Hope Blooms for the Fifth Time: A Flower Power Fundraiser for Children with Cancer

On December 28, 2024, the "Plant for Hope: Where Flowers bloom so does Hope" event blossomed for the fifth consecutive year, a testament to the unwavering support for children battling cancer in Mindanao. This annual virtual fundraiser, renowned for its unique approach, saw participants, donors, and buyers from across the Philippines and even the international community come together to support House of Hope, a halfway home for children undergoing cancer treatment.

Mindanao, a region often facing challenges in healthcare accessibility, relies heavily on the support of organizations like House of Hope. The proceeds from "Plant for Hope 5" directly benefit these children. This year a portion of the proceeds will replace some air conditioning units at the SPMC CCI Wards that have broken down to bring better comfort and ease suffering for our kids and adolescents undergoing diagnosis and treatment during admissions.

The majority of funds will continue to support treatment, non-medical needs and our shared care facilities across Mindanao.

The event, a celebration of life and hope, showcased the power of collective action. Participants had the opportunity to purchase beautiful blooms, each purchase symbolizing a seed of hope for a child in need. The vibrant atmosphere, filled with compassion and generosity, underscored the profound impact of community support.

"Plant for Hope 5" has not only become a significant source of funding for House of Hope but also a powerful symbol of solidarity. It serves as a reminder that even the smallest acts of kindness can have a profound impact on the lives of those facing immense challenges.

This year, Plant for Hope 5 is a 3-part-series that has a resounding success, raising an impressive 204.01% of its target revenue. This achievement is a witness to the community's commitment to the cause, with contributions coming from various sources. Plant sales accounted for 57.26% of the funds raised, while direct donations made up the remaining 42.74%. This overwhelming support will enable the organization to make a significant impact on its beneficiaries.
