House of Hope Foundation for Kids with Cancer Inc

The Ambassadors of Hope is a family support group composed of parents of children with cancer and advocates. It aims to provide psychosocial support for parents and families with children afflicted with cancer; to bring hope and better understanding of child cancer through education and to empower parents and families in their fight against cancer.

The Parent Support Group was inspired by Retired Ambassador Minda Calaguian Cruz, who is a staunch advocate of children with cancer. They were organized on July 15, 2012 at Bistro Rosario and a team building activity conducted by DCCFI and Dr Rojim Sorrosa on September 9, 2012 at the Malagos Gardens Resort. Its Charter members and officers were inducted by A Former Ambassador Cruz in ceremonies held at the Waterfront Insular Hotel last August 17, 2012.

The Ambassadors of Hope have supported various activities since their induction. They have supervised the weekly TGIF (Thank God It’s Friday) at Hope, a weekly Friday dinner with various sponsors; monthly birthday celebrations for parents; fundraising through Christmas caroling and the recent successful Survivors Day celebration on December 8, 2012.

Young Ambassadors of Hope for Children with Cancer

This is a youth support group for child cancer whose main aim is to advocate for child cancer patients. They aim to bring hope, awareness and better understanding of child cancer as well as organize psychosocial activities for children and adolescents with cancer. The Charter Members include: Lanzi Borromeo, Denise Dolendo, Christine Therese Guerrero, Maurice Bacaling, Floresces Logronio and Samantha Cunanan. They support the Ambassadors of Hope in various activities but independent activities include distributing a box of clothes and toys for the children.
